We've finally gotten around to picking a handful of songs from last spring's High Dive show and posting them. Head over to the music page to feel the sweet sonic bliss gently caressing your brain. (Warning: Not actually all that gentle.) Many, many thanks to veteran Killer Canary guitarist Rob Landis for volunteering to mix the tracks and for doing a damn fine job of it! These wouldn't sound nearly as good were it not for his efforts.
And while I'm here, I may as well mention that we've got a show next weekend at The Funhouse in celebration of the glory of sleep deprivation. Details on the gigs page.

Life in Seattle is treating us great. Since our last news post we've had 3 shows, one at the Skylark in West Seattle, the Comet in Capitol Hill, and the High Dive in Fremont. We were lucky enough to pull audio direct from the soundboard at our High Dive show so we'll be releasing the tracks here on the site as soon as we fix the levels, so stay tuned for that!
We've added new ways to follow us online in the last few months too. You can follow us on Facebook and iLike.com via the links below. We'll be releasing any new tracks we offer through iLike, we know you don't want to miss that. As usual, you can follow us on myspace too.

A few months and three shows later we're off to a terrific start! We've had the privilege of cranking up the volume at some great local venues, thanks again to the High Dive, Blue Moon Tavern, and Bob's Java Jive for hosting us. Most of all, thanks to everyone that came out to see us!
We're currently booking shows in and around Seattle, so join our mailing list and watch our gigs page to see more deadly yellow birds in your neighborhood.

It's been a long time, but Killer Canary is back! Except now we're based in Seattle and have a completely different lineup of guitarists. We now have AC Scott on bass and Erik Hajnal and Mike Cook sharing guitar duties. We've been playing together for just over two months and we already have fifteen songs ready to go and a few more nearing completion. So we will be playing for you soon!

I've decided to leave Boston for greener pastures. ...Seriously, Seattle is much greener than Boston. ...And that's where I'm going. Unfortunately for us all, this means the disbanding of Killer Canary. I might have taken the guys with me, but I received many serious complaints last time I tried to fit them in my luggage, and I'm afraid they might hurt me if I try that again.
On the bright side, we have three more gigs coming up for you all to enjoy. We're playing at Lit Lounge in New York on June 28th, The Bulfinch Yacht Club in Boston on July 1st, and Harpers Ferry in Allston on August 8th. As always, see the gigs page for details.
As an extra special bonus, there are 11 new recordings in the works that we are quite intent on finishing before we part ways. We'll let you know as soon as they're ready.
-Zak
In one week, we will be playing a show at The Middle East, so be sure to check that out. We've got a couple new songs to throw at you. Check the gigs page for details.
Also, I spent the first few weeks of this year recording drum tracks for eight new songs, so keep an eye out for those in the coming months.

As was previously reported here, Killer Canary was recently invited to record a session on the Band in Boston Podcast. We had a lot of fun, and it sounds good, too! You can read a bit more about our experience recording the session on our myspace blog, and you can download the session at Band In Boston's website. Mmm, convenient...

Killer Canary will be playing a special birthday show tomorrow at the Skybar in Somerville in honor of one of our birthdays, I think Anthony's (I definitely know it's not mine). We're set to go on some time around 10, it's a Friday and it's a birthday so no excuses! See you there, - Steve
We've known about this for a little bit, but the time has finally come to share it with you. Yes, we have another gig coming! On September 18th, Killer Canary will return to the Middle East in Cambridge to set new records in auditory nerve damage and temporary loss of balance. You'll be jumping up and down so hard, you'll have no idea who's head just smashed into your nose!
Also of interest, Killer Canary will journey to Somerville this weekend to record a podcast with Band in Boston. We'll be recording some live tracks and doing interviews, so you won't want to miss this. We'll let you know as soon as it's online.
Okay, time for me to put on some clothes. Have a nice day!

Well, I'm happy to report that all band members are alive and well after our successful Abbey Lounge gig the other night. We're cooking some stuff up for this fall, and though I can't get into anything too specific right now, I will give you this hint: think "October". That's it, I can't say anything else so don't even ask.
In other fairly exciting news, our band received a very nice mention in episode 7 of the Band in Boston podcast, which is reason enough for me to plug the hell out of them (by "plug", I mean promote, not shoot). Very lovely people who apparently have very good taste in bands (*cough*). Check it out!
We've just confirmed a show at Abbey Lounge in Somerville on 8/2. We'll be going on first at around 9, so make it your beeswax to be there early! That is all.
It's called "Laguna", we just finished mixing it. Go to our music page to download that and several other groovy tracks. Enjoy!
Just confirmed, come nurse your post-July 4th hangover with us at Skybar the next day, July 5th, as we officially kick off Killer Canary's Countdown to Bastille Day, 2006! Details on our gigs page.
I know everybody's already made sure to mark our June 2nd Bulfinch Yacht Club gig down in their calendar, and we've just learned some additional details about the gig that you might want to add: show starts at 8PM, cover is $5, and if we don't pack the place, one of my legs will be amputated (the good one). Please, for the love of God, don't let them take my leg! I need it for walking, and kicking disobedient dogs! Hope to see you there...
-Steve
First, I know what you're thinking, and no, they don't sell Yachts (I asked). Bulfinch Yacht Club is a new rock music venue in the north end- eh, just go visit their myspace page for more info. We're playing June 2nd (a Friday, so no excuses!) with our friends Three Nouns and Escape to Every Thing. Not exactly sure about a start time or cover charge, but I will post them here when I learn more. For the time being, just plan on getting there by 9PM and bring an extra $7 just in case. See you all there!
So I got bored really fast with the old layout, so here's the new us. I think this new layout is much more sleek and aerodynamic. Also, I've (begrudgingly) made more of an effort to make this page work with multiple browsers. However, it should be pointed out that this site (like almost everything else on the internet) looks best with Firefox or Netscape, both of which can be downloaded for free (sadly, Microsoft's Internet Explorer browser just seems to enjoy taking all of my hard work and ruining it).
In much more important news, we've also added a bunch of new mp3's and photos to our music and photos pages, respectively, so check them out!
-Steve
Welcome to the new official Killer Canary website! We finally have a domain to call our own. Thank you to our good friend Tim Furman of T.E.F. Design for the lovely chainsaw image you see on the left.
In other big news, we have a very big show coming up at O'Briens Pub in Allston on March 24th. It's a Friday, so I don't want to hear any lame-ass excuses! We will have free promo CDs to give away, so as usual: come early, tell the doorman you're there to see Killer Canary, and get shit-faced!
-Steve
